Recently a friend of mine asked me if I thought a person could actually heal themselves, both physically and emotionally through what is known today as “Regressive Therapy.” Let’s take a look and see what Regressive Therapy is. There is a misconception today with regard to regressive therapy via hypnosis, and the act of reaching your “Super-Consciousness” connection to the universal creative mind force, or your “Inner God” if you will.
The misconception pertains to the difference between “Channeling and Regressive Hypnotherapy.” Channeling occurs in two instances. One thought is when you, through meditation, call into action your higher consciousness for the purpose of receiving interpretations/receptions from a master guide. First of all…..the all spark of life (your inner god) is a part of the spark of all things living…it is the entity of the Super Consciousness, the Master Guide. This Master Guide is the spiritual soul essence of what your inner consciousness is made of, it is the part of you that is a god. Channeling occurs when in a trance state. This is a state of higher awareness to spiritual realms. With Channeling, these realms contain all knowledge and all interpretation of knowledge. During the trance state, this knowledge is relayed through you by what is called a “Higher Awareness Consciousness, or Master Guide”.
You must have a purified life style that is, “from the depths of soul,” seeking oneness through prayer and meditation with your higher levels of consciousness in order to tap into the “Higher Awareness Consciousness, or, Master Guide” to become a channel subject. Edgar Casey and John Ballou were channel subjects, as well as Nostradamus and others who had tapped into the realms of genius. Because we are all actually connected to these realms through the consciousness of our own life force, it is believed that everyone can gain access to these higher planes of consciousness during the trance state through channeling under this type of hypnotherapy. Usually channeling is not used for self-healing as is the intention of regressive therapy.
Regressive therapy is a form of hypnosis; however there is a misconception today with regard to regressive therapy verses “Self Hypnosis” as pertains to the act of “Self Healing”. Regressive therapy usually pertains to having an individual go into a hypnotic state so that past experiences can be re-experienced in order to help the individual release the emotional effects of the trauma that the regressed experience has had on them. Reinforcement and/or change of the personality and emotions occur with these traumatic experiences and will eventually become sub-conscious imprints on the physical systems. Most emotions are re-experienced and/or reinforced by the age of five or six. It appears that once a negative emotion is expressed enough to imprint the sub-conscious it becomes the basic cause of the physical ailments that occur later in life. The extent of these physical negative affects in our bodies has a direct correlation to the intensity and/or accumulation of the emotions the negative experience has brought about. Even though these negative emotional imprints can cause physical ailments at any time following a negative imprint experience, there appears to be a mean of ten years from the first emotional imprint before the physical systems begin to show the signs of damage.
The Regressive Therapy technique requires a Hypno-therapist to take the person into the hypnotic state; it is not a form of “Self-Hypnosis.” Regressive therapy has also been used to help individuals’ identify “Past Life” experiences that the individuals have experienced throughout the lifetime of the individual’s soul within a body – Past Life Regression is based on a belief in reincarnation… In each of these instances, a Hypno-therapist is needed to take the person into a hypnotic trance state. Today however, interesting new research in the area of “Self Hypnosis” has created a lot of interest in the fields of medicine. Can a person actually heal themselves? Wow, can we in fact use our minds to create health in our bodies and a serene emotional state? The answer is YES! Let’s look at this process in, (Part 2, Use Your Mind & Begin You’re Healing), and let’s see if we can create a better life for ourselves through the art of “Meditative Self Hypnosis.”
